Walk in Bristol

About the WalkInBRISTOL

Walkinbristol motivation

I’m Richie, I moved to  this wonderful, and vibrant Bristol in 2015 from Hungary.
I like getting to know the city where I live, so I started touring the attractions of Bristol point by point.
During my travels, I tried to get to know better Bristol's history, legends, and arts (until I moved to Bristol, I had no idea who is Banksy ... oh, sorry .. I don't know now either :)  ).
In Bristol not only  the City Centre is full of attractions,  there are many museums, galleries, parks, interesting historical or artistic places are relatively far from the Bristol City Centre.
Surprisingly, my experiences shows that many people in the local areas don't even know about these places.
(How true it is , you can be easily decided, If you read the story of
Banksy - The Masked Gorilla mural).
I took a lot of photos with my mobile phone on my trips and walks, which I then shared on social networking sites (now I don't have personal Instagram site ,  I started the walkinbristol Insta).
After a while, if my friends wanted to go to a park, where they wasn't there, or  they looking for a place with their children, where they would feel good for a full day or just an afternoon, they asked me about places, what can I offer to them.
Sometimes my photographer friends were looking for a place in Bristol, what is less visited, or were just looking for a background to their pictures, portfolios,  they turned to me for help.
Why not I help everyone ? -  I asked myself and in 2018 I started to build the first website in my life,  the walkinbristol - Walk in Bristol, which will probably never be completely finished, because  the life in Bristol is changing day by day :  new places, new arts appear  and old ones disappear without trace  , but I hope the website will helps everyone who wants to discover this stunning city.

Fast Guide to the website
In the Parts of Bristol,  I show to you Bristol in the BS postcode areas.
If you click to the postcode of the attraction, it will open the Google Maps in a new window, and it shows to you, where do you find it .
If you click to the More.. button, you can read more informations about the attraction:

you can see pictures, some videos, you can read historical and interesting things, opening times (please always check the opening times in the official websites with a click, they change it often) , the nearest toilet ( I checked it in the bristol.gov.uk  website 2020 ) , and the 5 nearest attractions.
If you click to one of the 5 nearest attraction's name , it opens informations as More..  button , If you click to the attraction's postcode it opens the Google Maps and It shows to you,  how can you walk to that attraction.

In the Attractions , I taked My favourite attractions in Bristol.

I have a page about Banksy , you can find it , if you click to Banksy's name in the sites , where I taked Banksy's artworks
I hope, I can help to you to your walk.

Please note: the site is a hobby-site and it is under constant development - the City is constantly changing too - if you find any errors, incorrect links, or out-of-date information, please contact us and we will fix them as soon as possible.
(The pages of some attractions are not completely ready - you only find a few pictures and a short description - we will try to make them similar to the others..)
