King Street
King Street is a 17th-century street in the historic city centre of Bristol, England.
The street lies just south of the old town wall and was laid out in 1650 to develop the Town Marsh, the area then lying between the south or Marsh Wall and the Avon. The north side was developed first and the south side in 1663, when the street was named after Charles II.
The section of the city wall is a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
Bristol Zoo Gardens
04.09.2022. Bristol Zoo Gardens closed in the Clifton site and moves to a new site in South Gloucestershire.
Bristol Zoo Gardens is the fifth oldest zoo in the world. They opened their doors to the public on Monday 11th July 1836 and since then they have welcomed over 90 million guests to their Zoo.Its owner, the Bristol Zoological Society, made the decision to close it due to financial pressures caused by the pandemic, and focus its resources on its sister site in South Gloucestershire.
University of Bristol Botanic Garden
The University of Bristol Botanic Garden is a botanical garden in Bristol, England. The garden moved to its current site in Stoke Bishop having previously been at two other sites in the city. The 4,500 species of plants are displayed in collections relating to evolution, Mediterranean, local flora and rare natives and finally useful plants.
Blaise Castle House Museum and Estate
Blaise Castle House Museum and Estate features a 19th century mansion, set in 400 acres of parkland, and is home to the social history collection. Stoke Park Estate
Stoke Park Estate is a public open space of 108 hectares (270 acres) in Bristol, England. It occupies a prominent position on the eastern flanks of Purdown, alongside the M32 motorway, together with the landmark Dower House and Purdown transmitter. Approximately 80% of the park is within the Bristol ward of Lockleaze, the remainder within South Gloucestershire.
Kings Weston House Estate
Kings Weston House is a Grade 1 listed building that was completed in 1719 and designed by Sir John Vanbrugh, who also designed Blenheim Palace. A historic landscape covering over 300 acres, with many historic buildings and garden features. The grounds are open at all times. Kings Weston House is not open to the public, except for special events.
Church of St Mary the Virgin - Churchyard
There may have been a church on the site since the 7th century. Construction of the present building took place during the 13th century. Restoration work was later carried out in the 19th century by the Gothic Revival architects Thomas Rickman and George Edmund Street. The church has been designated by English Heritage as a grade II* listed building.
The slave known as Scipio Africanus is buried in the churchyard in a grave with elaborately painted headstone and footstone, dated 1720. It is grade II* listed.

Horseshoe Bend, Shirehampton is an 11 acre (4.45 hectare) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Bristol, England, on the north bank of a lower, tidal stretch of the River Avon, 1.9 miles (3 kilometres) downstream from the Avon Gorge, and just east of the village of Shirehampton.
Holy Trinity Church Westbury-on-trym
Holy Trinity Church, together with the nearby College of Deans, was home to a collegiate community under the Bishop of Worcester until 1544. Holy Trinity Church is grade I listed and it can be seen from the list description of the church that the building is of great historic and architectural importance. It is the most significant historic building in Westbury-on-Trym forming the centre piece of the conservation area with its tower being a landmark in the middle of the village...
